If you didn't get the memo in time to plan digital learning activities for today, I encourage you to take this month of February to explore online resources and engage students in meaningful digital activities.  To help you get started, use the calendar below as a entry point for your own professional growth in digital learning!!  Enjoy the journey. :) February Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday 1 See how educators are celebrating Digital Learning Day 2  Groundhog day Read about "Groundhog Day History" at the official website. 3 Check out Featured Resources at teachers'domain.org 4 Create an account on teachers'domain and browse for resources to use in class next week! 5 Read "Seven Digital Learning Tips for Students" blog post at edutopia.com. 6 Update your FirstClass website or DNjr portal page - post information that students will need for the remainder of the week. 7 If you have an iPod/iPad/iPhone, download a new app - maybe a word game like Word Shaker or Chicktionary! 8 Read a blog - Leading from the Classroom (Education Week Teacher) 9 Have students create an acrostic poem online using a content vocabulary word. 10 Did you know about ASCD "Research a Topic" page? 11 Create a Twitter account and follow the Darke County ESC, along with other professional organizations! 12 Watch a TED Talks video - Sir Ken Robinson: Bring on the learning revolution! 13 When was the last time you browsed the DCESC Curriculum web pages for resources?  Check it out today! 14 Valentine's Day Explore the Heart across the curriculum: Language Arts Science Math 15 Update your FirstClass website by adding a blog post! 16 Read a blog - Teacher to Teacher (International Reading Association: Engage) 17 Login to Twitter and check your feed for useful information! 18 Just for fun...check out Discover Magazine - 20 Things You Didn't Know About.... 19 Explore the website - INSTRUCTIFY  (be sure to scroll through the Categories on the left side of the page) 20 Presidents' Day Search the Scholastic website for a student activity to use this week in your classroom. 21 Update your FirstClass website or post information on DNjr - create a lesson for students to access for an online learning experience. 22 Collaborate with your peers by contributing a post in one of the following FirstClass conferences: • iPod/iPad Forum • Technology • InteractiveWhiteboard Forum 23 If you have an iPod Touch/iPad/iPhone, update to iOS 5, install iBooks 2 and download E.O.
