Dear Students and Parents/Guardians,
Hello! I am Mrs. Reichard (pronounced rye curd). I will be your child’s chemistry teacher this year. Please take a few minutes together to read over this handout. Sign and return the back signature page only (this is for a grade). The signature page will be due by Tuesday of next week. Please email me with any questions you may have (sreichard@greenville.k12.oh.us). By following the procedures and expectations as explained in this packet, students will be successful in my class.
Parents, if you ever have any concerns about your child, please email me at the address above or call the school at 548-4188 and leave a message. Do not hesitate to contact me if you believe there is a problem or if you are worried about your child’s progress. Remember that we both have the same goal; we want your child to succeed in my class.
My class will not be easy, but it will not be impossible either. I expect my students to work hard. Working hard will result in the students learning and building valuable skills. My class will involve more than passing tests. Students will be expected to participate in class, complete all assigned work, and to participate in labs. Included in this packet is a list of necessary supplies that each student will need to have for my class.
I am honored to have the opportunity to be your child’s teacher. Education is a joint effort between students, parents, and teachers. It is possible that I will photograph activities in my class and post them on my web site. If you wish to -not have your child’s picture placed on a chemistry class web site, please send me a signed and dated note. I look forward to working with each and every student and know that we will have a fantastic year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Shelia Reichard
