During the month of October... we read a lot of "spooky" literature. One of our classroom favorites was Skeleton Hiccups. After reading the story the students wrote about how they would get rid of skeleton hiccups and created their own skeletons! |
Pumpkin Measurement
As a class we estimated how many pumpkin seeds were inside of a pumpkin. We gutted the pumpkin and sorted them out by tens.
We counted them and there were 580 seeds in our pumpkin. Wow, there were a lot more seeds in our pumpkin than we expected!!!
We recorded observations about our pumpkin.
We discovered that the outside was bumpy and orange.
The inside was stringy,gooey,and slimy.
How many pumpkins tall are you?
Students traced one another and measured with non-standard objects (paper pumpkins) to see how tall they were.
